Trammell Crow Residential

What is Trammell Crow Residential

Trammell Crow Residential is a trade name used by a group of separate entities that engage in a variety of activities related primarily to multifamily residential real estate.  One of those entities is Trammell Crow Residential Company, which is a corporation organized under Texas law.  Trammell Crow Residential Company and Trammell Crow Residential are not synonymous.  Trammell Crow Residential Company conducts only its own business, which is much smaller in scope than the wide range of respective activities carried on by the various entities that are part of the group.  Trammell Crow Residential Company is not responsible for the other entities that are part of the group or their activities or obligations.

Each member of the Trammell Crow Residential group of companies is a separate entity.  You should not assume that, by using the Trammell Crow Residential name, any entity is acting in concert with any other entity or that any member of the group is responsible for the obligations of another member.  With certain very limited exceptions, a member of the Trammell Crow Residential group of companies has no authority to bind any other member of the group.  No one can bind all member of the Trammell Crow Residential group of companies, and use of "Trammell Crow Residential" does not suggest otherwise.  Similarly, use of "Trammell Crow Residential" does not imply that an entity purports to act for anyone other than itself.  If you believe you are operating under an exception that allows an entity to bind another entity, be sure to verify the entity’s authority to your satisfaction.  The risk is yours if you are wrong.

If you have occasion to deal with a member of the Trammell Crow Residential group of companies, be sure you know the identity of the entity with whom you are dealing.  Be particularly careful to inquire about the entity if it is identified to you only as "Trammell Crow Residential" since that characterization is an informal usage that does not designate any responsible party.  It is not uncommon that an individual will have authority to act on behalf of more than one member of the Trammell Crow Residential group of companies.  An individual does not suggest that he or she is acting for more than one entity simply because the individual identifies himself or herself as a representative of Trammell Crow Residential.  In yours dealings, always verify the entity for which an individual is acting.  Again, the risk is yours if you are wrong.
